We speak to ourselves constantly. Sometimes out loud, but more often, quietly in our mind. It is such a normal part of our life that we barely notice it. You should evaluate how you speak to yourself because your subconscious mind believes the things you say.

Few people are naturally positive and optimistic. Some that are outwardly this way are secretly negative and pessimistic. The human mind is very powerful, and we are a long way from fully understanding its capability. We do know that the subconscious mind controls all of our activities and habits that don’t require active thought. It is also very susceptible to influence, especially from ourselves.

Therefore, if you identify yourself in a negative way…even as a joke, your mind will create that as your reality. If you tell yourself that you are shy, you will experience discomfort in social settings. If you talk about being “broke” or “poor,” your financial situation is likely to remain bleak. The same goes for body image, attractiveness, ability to learn, and virtually every aspect of your life and personality.

Your subconscious mind believes the things you say and think and is actively making them manifest in your life.

That is why it is so very important to always look for the good in ourselves and others. Find the positive in every situation or at least a lesson you can learn from. By conditioning ourselves this way, we train our subconscious mind to always benefit us. It will then form habits and attract things into our life more conducive to success.

The subconscious mind believes the things we imagine just the same as things that actually occur. This is true for both negative and positive thoughts and events. That is why visualization is such a powerful tool. If you can see yourself accomplishing something in your mind, your subconscious mind accepts this as reality and it becomes easier when you actually do it.
