Writing about and studying success is a part of my journey. A happy, prosperous life is something that I desire to build for myself and my family. A large part of that is becoming a person capable of success. Until I possess the necessary characteristics, my effectiveness will be limited.

I have much to overcome. I have a natural, or learned tendency to only see and focus on the negative aspects of my life. You can imagine that this might be considered a weakness. In a lot of ways it is. However, being negatively focused has allowed me to identify and plan for when things go poorly. It has also made me miss some of the greatness and beauty around me.

A lot of my time and efforts have gone into my personal improvement. I learned early that while everyone has the potential for success, not everyone has the personality traits and habits in place to achieve their greatest desires. That is why becoming a person capable of success is so important.

I realize that success is a vague term encompassing many things. It also has a different meaning for each individual. Success for me means a constant improvement in every area of my life: health and fitness, family and relationships, knowledge and influence, and financial security. It is more of a journey than a destination. The whole plan isn’t entirely clear to me, I just know I want to be and do better.

Having a positive impact on the world I live in and the people I interact with is my daily goal. I desire to overcome my small-minded, selfish tendencies and directly improve the lives of others.

I firmly believe that each person has knowledge and experiences that can benefit another. In a world filled with hate, war, poverty, crime, and deception shouldn’t we do a little bit to make it better? Shouldn’t we lend a hand to someone that needs it?

The answers are available for anyone that wishes to seek them out. I am studying the lives and lessons of many that have gone before me, and I am becoming a person capable of success. Small goals can have a small impact and huge goals can have an incredible impact. You have to start somewhere. Are you a person capable of success?
